Spring Only Just Round the Corner!

It's nice to start the working week after a lovely rain free weekend with sun and spells of warm weather, for a change. It's exactly 4 weeks to the day until spring, and the homestretch to summer begins as we leave the wintery chills behind us. We can look forward to the days progressively getting longer, but it's not until the clocks go forward that we can fully embrace the emergence of summer. Let's all pray for a decent summer this year, after 12 months of rain we are in desperate need of some vitamin D.

At this time of year I like to plan my spring wardrobe and say goodbye to all the gloves, hats, scarves and big woollies. Having said that one item of clothing that does seem to accompany me throughout the rotating seasons is my leatherjacket. Leather is good for most of the year especially when you live in the UK. We often need a jacket on a summer day the way our weather's been heading the last few years. Lambs nappa is the way to go, they're gorgeously soft, supple and light weight. In the winter they do the job and in the summer they do the job, well not on sweltering hot summer days, but ideal when you’re out on a summer’s evening with a gentle breeze.

Leather jackets are also special because they only get better with age softening and developing character through extended wear. In this respect, you could view it as an investment item that you will always get value for money from. If I had to choose a favourite style it would have to be a leatherbiker jacket. They’ve been around for generations and somehow continue to maintain their appeal the world over.
